How to start a great day?

“Trade your expectations for appreciation and your whole world changes in an instant.”

Tony Robbins

Human beings tend to have a desire for feeling good & happy deep down in their soul. When we wake up in the morning, it is very important to start our day with a good attitude, mood and energy. On the other hand, a lot of people wake up most of the times tired, down, pretty much exhausted and worried about their day. Indeed, our state at the beginning of our day seems to be like a sparkle that could set us on fire to start a great day or it could be like a heavy burden that could drown us. Then, what can we do to help ourselves at the beginning of our days for having a great day?

Here is a list of techniques you can follow to start up your days fully energized and excited:
1. Be Grateful for what you already have in your life. Ask what are you grateful for in your life? Then ask why you are grateful for that? I will give you a couple of examples: you can be grateful for your health, for having your family and parents, for having your loved ones, for your job and so on. The first time it might take you a bit of time (about 10-20 mins) to come up with inspiring words to show your pure gratefulness, but after that you will be much faster each day and it becomes like a ritual for you. And, please do not ignore the WHY part of the question because it makes you to come up with a few reasons to explain to yourself that why you are grateful for that specific thing.
2. Be Proud of what you have already achieved in your life. Ask what are you proud of in your life? Why are you proud of that? A bunch of examples for this could be your achievements and success in your: education (high school, university, etc.), job, sports, contribution to your loved ones and other people, etc. You can even be proud of your body. That is right, you can even be proud of your body! For instance, I had been obsessed as a skinny kid to have a nice body as an athlete :) And now when I look back, I see that how far I’ve come and achieved my goal. Simply because I was motivated and passionate to be fit and in nice shape, I was consistent with my efforts to exercise regularly. For most of us, it doesn't come out easily to say that I am really proud of this and that in my life. But, if you take a good look at your life, there are a lot of things that you have done throughout your life (even the little stuff) that you can be proud of. Again do not forget the WHY part of the question.

3. Be excited about your future. Ask what are you excited about in your life? And why? A couple of examples here could be a visualization of your dreamed job, your dreamed life style, your dreamed car, house, yacht and so on. It doesn't necessarily need to be a long term or far away visualization of your desires. You can be excited for your short term tasks and goals as well, such as your next work assignments, the next dog you're going to adopt, your next party or whatever.
I know that you might say that: well, I don't have time for this kind of spiritual practice at the beginning of my day because I have to take a shower, eat my breakfast, get ready and run for my job. But, this could be one of the most important parts of your day and your whole life. Isn't it important for you to feel good and happy at the beginning of your day? Isn't it important for you to increase your mood and energy to start up your day with passion and high efficiency? By the way, it just takes about 10 to 15 minutes of your day (if you get used to it, it could be done much faster in like 5 minutes). This is very very important, so please either wake up 10 minutes earlier or save up 10 minutes out of your breakfast time (or something else) to be able to do it.
The above mentioned ritual is arranged in a perfect way to set you on fire to start your day in the best possible way. First, you will strengthen yourself spiritually through gratefulness. Second, you will increase your confidence and self-esteem by remembering your strengths and achievements that you’re proud of. Third, you will get excited and passionate to start your day in your desired living direction by imagination and visualization of your goals and dreams.
My suggestion: wake up, drink a whole glass of water (to hydrate your body organs), do a couple of push ups (to wake your whole body and to change your state), then go to take a shower. In order to save your time, you can even do the above ritual while you're taking your shower. After that eat your breakfast (preferably fruit salad, juice and tea), get ready and do whatever you like for your living. Have a great day :)
