How to make decisions and take actions

“Sometimes it’s the smallest decisions that can change your life forever.”

 ─ Keri Russell

Sometimes making decisions and taking actions could be a frustrating process for people that they prefer to close their eyes on the possibilities and forget about their new decisions. There are a couple of factors that could increase the level of your frustrations and decrease your confidence level which will be discussed in another article. Here, I will try to show you that how you can facilitate the process of decision making for yourself to be able to take actions instantly. So, let's take a look at some strategies that will help you tremendously on the procedure of your decision making & taking actions:

1. First of all, don't try to do a bunch of stuff at the same time. Focusing on different tasks simultaneously will take most of your energy, reduce your efficiency and leave you frustrated. You can read the methods to order your workloads, tasks and goals based on their importance and your priorities here. Make your prioritized list of stuff and go one by one (you just need to focus on one at a time).

2. Do not generalize your goals. Be specific about your desires and draw a clear map with full details.

3. Assign little steps which are very easy to be taken and accomplished. Specially, the first steps leading to your final goals need to be very easy to give you enough confidence and encourage you for the next steps.

4. Find role models for your dreams. In any specific field which you are interested, passionate or would like to be successful, there are already some people who have achieved what you want. So take advantage of their experiences and model their beliefs and strategies to achieve the same thing.

5. On the way to your goals, set some rewards and punishments for your achievements and setbacks, respectively. Whenever you take a step closer to your goal, give yourself credit and reward to link a feeling of pleasure to succeeding and taking actions. And, assign punishments for yourself if you don't follow the steps (actions) required for your final goals.

6. Announce to the people around you (your family and friends) about your upcoming goals. This kind of announcement will help you to take your goals more realistic and serious than before. It will be like a punishment, if you don't stick to your ground-rules and actions. In this scenario, your family and friends could also be a big help for you by reminding you about your goals and required actions for achieving them.

What are you waiting for? Go ahead, make your decisions and take the first steps! :)
